uhmm yeah, grade 12 canadian student here
i posted my questiions on the romanian forum, and jesus no body answered, so i hope someone will answer me here
first off i want to get into medical dentistry:
do i have to fill out an application?? where do i find this application? when do i have to send it by? when do i get my letter of acceptance? would it be at the romanian embassy in my country? do i register before or after my letter of acceptance? when should i come in cluj to finalize all documents & take care of housing etc?
also, do we pay tuition per month, or year (10 months)
also, someone told me that for foreign students they only look at your highschool diploma, or do they look at final average of marks of your last year in highschool?
also, approx how many subjects per day? (i know 9 per semester or something)
all help would be kindly appreciated, cuz who knowww you might see me in clujj next yearrr
haha

hi,
these 2 links http://www.uni.edu/studyabroad/programs/Romania.htm and http://www.ceebd.co.uk/ceeed/un/rom/ro020.htm may give u most of the information u asked about. as for visa u will need to have your acceptance letter and go to the romanian embassy of your country and apply. For housing once in here you would have to look for one. We are really sorry most if not all of the users in here are from medicine faculty and we don't really have much contact with dentistry faculty.
Hope it will be of some use to you
Amrish

double beds??
yeah i heard about that;
but apparently its only for already enrolled students who have a high GPA,
now i dont know, but i would rather spend my money on other stuff rather than expensive housing where i would probably only go to sleep.
but anyways, do the double bed rooms have a washroom & kitchen included?
thanks tons.

yes they do depending on where you got placed... but usually it's rather hard to get a double bed room and some hostels have common kitchen and washroom for the whole building. It kind of depends on your luck
P.S it would be really nice if you could put all you questions in one reply/post.

yeah sorry my questions are kind of scattered, but yes i will type them up all together considering that you are probably going to email them to the rector dude or w.e his name is, or w.e you are going to do with them; haha
okay so here goes:
[1]I was wondering about what EXACT procedure is for obtaining an acceptance letter to study in the field of Medical Dentistry, at UMF. Also in regards to this, would there be any possible way to attain a scholarship, meaning that my tuition at UMF would be paid for by the government? I pose this question due to the fact that I understand Canada and Romania had a bilateral agreement before Romania's entrance into the EU, but I am not sure if the change has applied to Romania's government funding of tuition for international students.
[2]In regards to housing for international students wanting to study at UMF and wanting to stay on campus, what are the different possibilities for housing an individual can choose from? Are students able to choose? What are the conditions like? Are there any pictures on the "beloved" UMF website which could enlighten curious international students wanting to study at YOUR university? What are the prices/fees? When would the housing be taken care of, meaning, would housing be settled before my arrival to Romania? Or would I have to find some other temporary housing before settling into my on-campus dorm?
[3]Some specific dates for deadlines in regards to the questions posed above would be greatly appreciated.
ps. their site needs some DESPERATE updating; including an english/french section that ACTUALLY works. Honestly, the site just goes to show the lack of communication between the administration and the student body; makes me want to change my mind about even coming to UMF quite sad
pss. hope i helped with my extensive questions haha

Hello Tania...
You will find documents to apply for studies in Romania and for a possible scholarship on the embassy of Romania.
This website is that of the embassy in South Africa, but the procedure should be the same.
Regards.
PS: I second what Amrish said about the lack of communication: now they set a new rule that no longer allow us to meet/talk directly with the secretary of our Year; we now have to send all requests by written to the receptionists or email her and wait for her reply.
